9:30-10:20

Acrylic Painting

Ages 10+
Instructor: Heather Hollingsworth
Price: $60

Students will experience the joy of artistic expression through acrylic painting. In this guided painting class, students will have the opportunity to express themselves in their paintings while learning techniques, brush strokes and brush care, color blending, and more. Please keep in mind that acrylic paint may stain clothing, so you should provide a smock or overshirt for you child to wear during class.

Advanced Dance Combo

Ages 12+
Instructor: Terry Bartlett
Price: $75

This year’s class will be a Contemporary Ballet/Tap Combo. We will focus, as always, on proper technique within each style, utilizing and refining strength, coordination, flexibility, terminology, rhythm, fluidity, expression and other performance skills. At the end of the school year, the students will present 2 routines, one of each style, in our Co-op Showcase. 


*Previous dance experience strongly recommended; for new students, placement will be on a trial basis. Ms. Bartlett has the final say for placement. Ballet and tap shoes required, but we do allow time to acquire them, and encourage trading when feet grow throughout the year.

Duplo STEAM Park

Ages: 4-6

STEAM Park builds on children's desire to create, explore, and investigate the world of early science, technology, engineering, art, and math (STEAM) through creative play. We will work together to build a STEAM Park full of dynamic moving rides, fun games, and scenes using the special selection of Lego Duplo bricks. Students will grow their understanding of gears, motion, design, measurement, and solving problems together in a fun and engaging way.

Level 1/ Beginner Martial Arts

Ages: 7+

This Martial Arts practice provides self-defense skills, fitness, concentration and focus, confidence, awareness and centering. Suitable for beginners.

Intermediate Dance 

Ages 8-11
Instructor: Terry Bartlett 
Price: $75

We will review our Tap and Ballet basics, learn a few beginning Jazz moves, and further develop & utilize skills of coordination, fluidity, strength, flexibility, counting & rhythm, spacing & patterning, terminology, and artistic expression- brought to life in one routine for Tap and one for Ballet. Our routines will be presented in a Co-op Showcase at the end of the school year.

Mini TIgers Martial Arts

Ages 3-6

This class is for the younger beginners to martial arts. This Martial Arts practice provides self-defense skills, fitness, concentration and focus, confidence, awareness and centering.

Works of Art

All Ages (<5 with Caregiver Assistance)
Instructor: Heather Hollingsworth
Price: $60

Students will use paint and paintbrushes as well as various other tools and media to create their very own fine art on small canvases. Loosely guided paintings will be inspired by famous artists and artistic styles as students express themselves in a supportive environment where every piece is a masterpiece! A smock or cover shirt is highly recommended. Adults and children alike will enjoy learning and creating their own works of art in this class!

11:15-11:45

LUNCH

Students should pack a lunch. A refrigerator and microwave are available for our use. Please note that there is only one microwave, so you may want to heat your food prior to the start of lunch time. 

All food will be kept in our fellowship hall/cafeteria/kitchen area in order to keep our classroom spaces clean and safe for those with food allergies. At this time we are a peanut-free co-op. For further protection, and to encourage healthy habits and a healthy environment, please wash hands both before and after lunch or snacks. 

Only water bottles, preferably reusable and labeled with names, will be permitted in classroom spaces. 

Food, tables, and the surrounding area should be cleaned up at the end of lunch period and all trash placed in the CLAP! trash bin.

Cartooning Camp

Ages 9+

Instructor: Mike Lyman

Price: $80 per SEMESTER, includes free artist's eraser! Payment Plans Available

The Cartooning Camp teaches young artists how to sketch and develop their creativity, focusing on figure drawing, perspective, inking, and more. Students focus on what they like to draw, learning concepts that refine and improve their skills, while learning about different artists and art genres. Because each student works at their own level, there is no need to “keep up” with other students.

Materials needed: A good sketchbook, drawing pencils, and a grey kneadable artists eraser. (For drawing pencils, 2B or 4B are best for sketching and drawing.)

Get Set for the Stage

Ages 5-8
Instructor: Terry Bartlett
Price: $75

Come play with us! This class is an introductory level Musical Theatre class, more structured than Music,Movement, and Me, and a whole lot of fun! We will learn about the stage, how to move onstage, how to block a scene, early character development, how to speak and sing with clear diction, tips on learning lines (age appropriate in content and length), early singing guidelines and age appropriate vocal technique, movement and easy choreography, and how to put these skills together in a scene and/or song. The final production for the end of year Showcase, will be one that best utilizes the skills and talents of the class dynamic, and will allow each child to shine in their very best light. My goal with this class is to write a very short mini-play, adapted from a beloved children’s story, and teach a song that goes with the theme of the story.

Music, Movement, & Me 

Ages 2-5
Instructor: Amanda Drake

Children will learn to interact and express themselves together with a cast of classmates in this play-based exploration of performing arts and music, which helps develop all areas of early learning and development. Lessons feature engaging activities that introduce basic instruments, songs, rhythm and rhyme, stories, dance, choreography, puppets, imaginative play/theater, cooperative games, and fun movement activities.

Culinary Creations

ALL Ages, Caregiver participation highly encouraged and required for children under 5

This class is an opportunity for the child and their caregiver to explore different culinary methods while having fun in the kitchen!  We will engage the senses and use our listening skills as we measure and mix up healthy snacks, sweets, and creations that are typical wheat, gluten free, and vegan, among other choices. 

If your child has any allergies please make the instructor aware ASAP so we can modify the menu if possible to ensure your child can attend all of the sessions.

Beginning Dance

Our Beginner Class builds on the pre-dance skills learned in Music, Movement, and Me (formerly Broadway Babies). The Dance Combo Classes are more formal than Music, Movement, and Me, but we will still have fun! Using creative movement and brain/body dance activities as our foundation, we will work to develop large motor skills, spatial and body awareness, directional awareness, strength, flexibility, counting & rhythm, patterning, basic Ballet and Tap positions and early steps, and artistic expression- brought to life in a routine for Tap, and one for Ballet. Our routines will be presented in a Co-op Showcase at the end of the school year.

Sock Creations

Ages 8 + (younger with adult assistance)

In this class we will enjoy making whimsical stuffed animals by turning socks into adorable bunnies, kittens, hamsters, turtles, critters, monsters, penguins, and more… the ideas are limitless! Students will need to be able to use a needle and thread or have an adult to assist them.

1:35-2:25

Musical Theatre

Ages 8+
Instructor: Terry Bartlett
Price: $75

Come join the fun, as this performance-based class delves into the world of music, acting, and movement. We will refine our techniques for healthy singing, including breathing, intonation, resonance & diction; we will also sharpen our basic acting skills, including trust & cooperation, physicality & pantomime, emotional recall, subtext, character development, study various acting styles, and play theatre games; we may also incorporate easy, fun choreography into our musical numbers, as appropriate. These skills will be featured in our end of the year Showcase, as we aim to present at least 2 traditional theatre songs, one original mini-scene, and one original mini-monologue (original pieces will be written by the class and Ms. Terry).

Sensory Process Art

Ages 3-8 (younger with caregiver assistance)

Things might get a little messy as we let children lead the way and create their own masterpieces! Students will engage their senses and their creativity will grow as we let them be artists with no planned end products. We’ll learn about art and provide different materials to explore each week and encourage the concept that art is a process, not a product. Each child should bring an art shirt or smock. Caregivers are encouraged, but not required, to stay and play! Children under 3 may participate with an adult assistant.

Nature Journaling

Ages 8+
Instructor: Marcia Sharp
Price: $50

Students will practice observing, recording, and experiencing nature in any place. We will learn how a "sit spot" can be anywhere, make our own sit-upons, explore different writing and journaling techniques, observe and record using all of our senses, and learn the value of time with nature. Each student will receive a journal at the second class, but should bring their favorite writing or drawing materials. This class is designed for children who are already reading and writing and are comfortable sitting peacefully in nature.

Beginner Spanish

All Ages (<8 with adult present)
Instructor: William Sanford Mendez

Learn the basics of Spanish in a fun and interactive way, including song and dance,  utilizing the Total Physical Response method. Optional additional  $16 fee for online videos to practice at home!
